BREAKING NEWS: Aba Power Supply Set for Gradual Restoration as Geometric Power Resumes Turbine Operations
Power supply is set for a gradual restoration across Aba and surrounding areas following the successful repair of damaged components at the facilities of Heirs Energies, the gas supplier to Geometric Power Aba Limited (GPAL).
Aba Power Management, in a power alert issued on Saturday, August 8, 2026, announced that GPAL had resumed turbine operations after the repairs, paving the way for the restoration of electricity distribution to customers.
According to the management, power supply is now being systematically restored through various feeders, with the pace of restoration dependent on the generation capacity currently available from the power provider.
The development comes as a major relief to electricity consumers who have endured an outage linked to the disruption in gas supply to the Geometric Power facility. The restoration of turbine operations is expected to progressively improve electricity availability across the Aba power network.
Aba Power Management said its restoration strategy would be carried out in phases to ensure that available generation is effectively distributed across the network.
The company also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the prolonged outage, while appreciating customers for their patience, understanding and continued support during the period of disruption.
The return of Geometric Power’s turbines marks a significant step toward normalising electricity supply in Aba, with customers expected to see progressive restoration as power becomes available across the different feeders.
The management urged customers to continue to cooperate with the distribution team as the restoration process gets underway, assuring them that efforts are focused on returning power supply to affected areas as quickly and systematicall
y as possible.
