“Tinubu Endorsements Won’t Save You From Defeat” — Oyetola Replies Adeleke
Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, has launched a fresh verbal attack on Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, declaring that his repeated endorsements of President Bola Tinubu will not shield him from defeat in the August 15 governorship election.
Oyetola, a former governor of Osun State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the 2022 governorship election, dismissed what he described as Adeleke’s reliance on his relationship with President Tinubu, insisting that the incumbent governor should be prepared for defeat at the polls.
Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated election, Oyetola said Adeleke would remain preoccupied with his political rivalry with him even in his dreams, while boasting that the governor’s repeated endorsement of Tinubu would not change the outcome of the election.
“If Adeleke sleep and dream, he will say it’s Oyetola, Adeleke should endorsed President Tinubu more than 10 times, he will be disgrace in the August 15th Governorship election. He’s a goner,“ Minister Oyetola says.
The statement comes amid heightened political activities in Osun State as the major political parties intensify their campaigns and mobilisation efforts ahead of the August 15 poll.
Oyetola’s remarks underline the fierce rivalry between the former governor and Adeleke, whose political contest has remained one of the defining battles in Osun politics.
The minister’s confidence also signals the determination of the APC to reclaim Osun State, with the party expected to rely on its political structure and support for President Tinubu as it makes another push for the state.
With election day fast approaching, both camps are stepping up their efforts to win over voters, setting the stage for a closely watched contest that could have significant implications for the political balance in Osun State.
